Curbside yard waste collection wrapping up for winter

Curbside yard waste collection in Campbell River is about to wrap up for winter.

According to the City, next week (Nov. 22 – 26) is the last week crews will be making their rounds until March, with pickup day the same day as garbage collection.

With this in mind, locals are reminded yard waste can only be picked up in paper bags or clearly labelled lidded containers that weigh no more than 44 pounds.

The City says branches and prunings must also be tied in secure bundles no more than 90 cm long and 60 cm wide, with individual branches not exceeding 7.5 cm in diameter.

This winter, locals can still drop off yard waste at the Campbell River Waste Management Centre on Argonaut Rd.

The site accepts yard waste that requires chipping for a fee of $10 for less than 100 kilograms or $65 per tonne, but there’s no charge when dropping off leaves and grass with no chipping required.
