Immigrant Welcome Centre holding community forums for the Comox Valley and Campbell River

The Immigrant Welcome Centre’s Welcoming Communities Coalition (WCC) is putting on online community forums for the Comox Valley and Campbell River during the next week.

The discussions will focus on the power of immigrant employment in the area.

The Comox Valley forum is on Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the Campbell River event is on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Participants will be able to weigh in on their work and immigration experiences.

“We know that there are labour shortages across Canada, and we are hearing from local employers that they want to learn more about how to recruit and retain a diverse workforce,” said Immigrant Welcome Centre executive director Jim Brennan. “We spend so much time in our workplaces, and so any changes organizations make to help their employees feel more welcome and included will have an impact on the overall wellness of their staff and will help with recruitment and retention of people from all backgrounds.”

People can register for the free forums here.
