Investing in adult literacy programs

The province in investing $2.4 million dollars in adult literacy programs.

Parksville Qualicum MLA Michelle Stilwell made that annoucement on behalf of BC’s Advanced Education Minister, at the Career Centre in Parksville.

Cheryl Dill, executive director of the Career Centre, says the funding they’re receiving will go a long way.

75 programs across the province will be getting funding in 2015-2016. Including ones in Duncan, Sechelt, and Nanaimo, Courtenay, Campbell River & Powell River.

Since 2001, the province has invested more than $25 million in community adult literacy programs.
