Multiple fire crews and units are fighting a fire northwest of Campbell River.
Capt. John Vaton says crews were called to the area near the Elk Falls Mill and Campbell River lookout at around 1:30 p.m.
When crews arrived, the fire was about 30 metres by 60 metres and in the brush. Vaton says there are currently eight fire units on scene with about 25 firefighters.
Assistance has also been requested from the Oyster River Fire Department and BC Wildfire Service is sending two helicopters, according to Vaton.
There are no structures at risk at this time.
