Charity Checkstop returning to Campbell River

With the holiday season approaching, the Charity Checkstop is back for the third year in a row.

The drive-thru event will be hosted by Campbell River’s emergency service personnel to support the Knights of Columbus Christmas hamper program.

This includes the RCMP, Fire Department, BC Ambulance Services, and the BC Sheriffs service.

They will be accepting donations of unwrapped toys, non-perishable food and cash to fill hampers and help out as many needy homes as possible on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Home Hardware on Dogwood Street.

Cst. Maury Tyre says they are hoping to keep the momentum of the last two years.

“Our first two years were a great success and it’s great to see the community support,” said Tyre. “We look forward to helping out again this year and hopefully for many more years to come.”
