RCMP seek stolen Christmas ornaments

RCMP in Campbell River are looking for the Grinch that made an early appearance in a local neighbourhood this year.

Officers say someone has taken a page from the children’s book and stole decorations from a lawn display on Dolly Varden Road on Dec. 9. The area just north of Campbell River is highly decorated, according to police.

They say 30 illuminated candy cane lawn ornaments were stolen in the ordeal along with a one-and-a-half metre illuminated wire deer ornament.

Officers are hoping to catch the thief and follow the tale towards Christmas.

“Our hope is that someone may know this Grinch and convince them to let their heart grow five sizes and return the items to their rightful place,” said Cst. Maury Tyre, media relations officer.

RCMP ask you to call them at 250-286-6221 if you have any information to identify the suspect.
