RCMP on the lookout for mischievous cow

Campbell River RCMP are on the lookout for a mischievous cow around the Penfield area.

On Saturday December 3rd, shortly before 10:00 PM, a person dressed up as a cow walked up the stairs of a home in the area, then rang the doorbell, and walked away before the owner could open the door.

Cst. Maury Tyre, Media Relations Officer of the Campbell River RCMP says that while many young people enjoy ringing doorbells and running away, some have taken the game too far.

“Many people may consider the game of nicky nine doors a harmless prank, and we are sure there are adults in the community who remember playing the game in good fun as youth. Unfortunately, in the Penfield area, what we have are some young people that have taken the game too far,” said Tyre. “Items in yards have been broken in haste and the repetitive nature of the events which have occurred as late as 3:00 am has stretched beyond fun to disturbing to many residents in the area. “

Police are hoping that some of the older members of the community can teach the young members what is fun and what is criminal mischief in order to prevent further disturbance calls in the area.
