An early detection had a huge impact on a garage fire Monday night.
Just before 10 p.m., the Campbell River fire department responded to a garage fire at 520 Thulin Street.
Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Doherty says no one was injured, but nearby homes were evacuated during the fire.
The garage was completely destroyed, and next-door neighbours’ sidings were also affected.
An investigation regarding the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
