Something new to get kids interested in science

A research team based at the University of Victoria has just come to Campbell River and installed a few weather stations at local schools.

Edward Wiebe, a research associate in climate modeling says the stations are up on the roof, and they can monitor temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind direction and speed, sun shine and the UV index.

Wiebe says they already have stations set up at schools in southern school districts and this is helping them track weather differences in small neighborhoods.
