UPDATED: BC Hydro crews busy with wind-related outages in Campbell River

BC Hydro crews are busy across the Northern half of the island.

As of 12:30 pm 3,200 were without power. That includes just under 1,700 in the Comox Valley and 1,300 in Campbell River across eleven different outages.

The causes that have been released are for downed wires, or trees across them.

UPDATE 1:20 pm: 3,900 without power in the area. Including 1,700 in Courtenay and 2,100 in Campbell River.

The one of the two main outages in Campbell River affecting 804 West of TIBER BAY RD and North of HEWITT RD is expected back on at 2:30 pm.

Another affecting 72 North-South-East-West of GOLD RIVER HWY is expected back at 3:00 pm.

UPDATE 2:40 pm: Around 4,000 still without power in the Campbell River and Comox Valley. The main outage North of the Campbell River-Quadra ferry terminal affecting 900 customers is expected back on a 5:00 pm.

A new outage popped up East of DOGWOOD ST, North of HOLM RD, West of ALDER ST, South of ROCKLAND RD affecting 450 customers. No word yet, on when crews will be able to get to it.
