Lawn-watering restrictions start today

Watering restrictions for lawns start today in Campbell River, to help preserve water for the summer months.

People with even-numbered addresses can water lawns on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 5-9 am and from 7-10 pm. People with odd-numbered addresses can water their lawns on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5-9 am and from 7-10 pm.

There are no restrictions on watering gardens, trees, shrubs, or community gardens by hand, or with spring-loaded nozzles with automatic shut-offs connected to the hose.

The city suggests people keep their lawns at least three inches high so grass can retain moisture and reduce sunburn. Visit the city’s campbellriver.ca website for more tips to maintain healthy lawns and gardens and conserve water.
