The airport will be swarming with planes and classic cars tomorrow morning, as the annual Wings and Wheels fundraiser takes off.
The fly-in or cruise-in event starts at 8 am at the airport, there will be music, food trucks, a pop-up market, airplane rides and more, including a classic car show and airplane displays. There will also be a free shuttle to and from North Island College.
The event runs until 3 pm and is a fundraiser for Teen Flight, a Campbell River non-profit which brings teens together to build an airplane and fly it, promoting an enthusiasm for aviation.
Youth in the program have been working on building a Murphy Radical four-person plane from a kit, they have been putting it together since February. Their progress will be on display during the event.
