Thanks to the recent rain, the City of Campbell River has lifted its water restrictions.
The restrictions were lifted on Sunday after the City was under Stage two restrictions since mid-July.
Operations Manager Steven Roehr says operations will continue to monitor the system.
“Due to the shortened days and weather forecast, significant increases in flows are not expected to be seen once the restrictions are lifted,” said Roehr.
The city adds that the restrictions were successful in reducing overall water consumption, including an 11 percent decrease in average water use from July to August.
Residents and businesses are still encouraged to continue these water practices throughout the fall and winter, with hopes that it will protect the watershed in the future, while reducing the overall environmental impact.
