BC Ferries says they expect to see lots of cars AND lots of walk-ons over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Darin Guenette of BC Ferries says the two main routes between the Island and Lower Mainland will be the busiest.
Guenette says they expect so many walk-ons in part because this is the first long-weekend of the term for university and college students.
Extra sailings have been scheduled on Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay and Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay routes.
Guenette says Ferries is recommending walk-ons get to the terminals earlier than usual, and get a ride or use transit, because long term parking lots are likely to fill up fast.
