Two men have been arrested in connection with a violent extortion case from August.
On December 3, two men were arrested following a police investigation. The next day, they appeared in court. They are charged with six offences including forcible confinement, extortion, attempting to obstruct justice, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and uttering threats. Dates for a trial have not been set.
Their charges are in connection with an August incident, when members of Campbell River RCMP’s Street Crime Unit found evidence of a man who had been forcibly confined and assaulted with a weapon. They believe the incident was targeted.
