Campbell River mayor hopes for solution to ongoing bus strike

The City of Campbell River is hoping that both PWTransit and its workers will come together and resolve their current labour dispute.

That comes from mayor Kermit Dahl in a letter responding to the dispute, which saw transit service ceasing for both the Comox Valley and Campbell River on Friday.

He says while the city is not involved in negotiations, they are monitoring the situation.

“The handyDART service has been deemed essential for customers with appointments related to medical needs and will continue to operate during this service disruption,” said Dahl.

He adds that 30-day passes and monthly passes will both be refunded. If you purchased a monthly pass for December, they ask you to go to City Hall to request a refund.

If you bought a 30-day pass, you are encouraged to call 877- 380-8181 for the refund.
