Northern Area D residents south of Campbell River can expect to see contractors in their neighbourhoods this spring, getting ready for new water meters.
The region is requiring residents to install water meters, to make better use of limited water supplies while the number of residents continues to increase.
Contractors will be visiting homes to locate and confirm the locations of water service connections. Residents are asked to keep them clear, visible, and accessible, if they know where they are.
Residents who have already voluntarily installed water meters will be able to apply for reimbursement from the Strathcona Regional District. More information will be available later this spring.
Residents on the Black Creek and Oyster Bay water system are not part of this project.
