We have a new liberal government, and more than 68 percent of eligible voters came out to vote on Monday night.
But one thing that hasn’t changed is we still only have 26 percent of the female representation in the House of Commons.
The province of BC alone has 12 female MPs, which is a five percent drop from last election.
And even though throughout our nation, it has increased one percent, this still isn’t enough.
Equal Voice BC chair Carolyn Jack says the increase just isn’t good enough in the 21st century.
Jack says the projected changes will happen in almost the 22nd century, which is way too far away.
