Multiple ferry sailings are cancelled this afternoon because of high winds, according to BC Ferries.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says a gale warning is in effect for the Strait of Georgia north of Nanaimo, which expects winds of 34 to 47 knots for the area.
Because of the high winds, the ferry-line has cancelled 8 sailings between Campbell River and Quathiaski Cove (Quadra Island), and two between Cortes Island and Quadra Island.
These cancellations include two sailings departing Campbell River and Quathiaski at 3:00 p.m., and another two departing both locations at 3:30 p.m.
More updates will come as soon as they are available.
