Another new child care centre opened up late last month at Ocean Grove Elementary.
The centres give kids a safe place to stay before and after school while their parents are at work.
Superintendent Geoff Manning says it’s exciting to see the projects coming together after years of work. He says four more childcare centres at Pinecrest, Sandowne, Cedar and Georgia Park will open in the district before the end of the school year, and the childcare centre on Quadra Island will open for September 2024.
The first centre to be completed was at Ripple Rock Elementary. North Island MLA Michele Babchuk says they will help struggling parents, giving them peace of mind that their children will be supported with learning opportunities in a safe environment.
