New primary care clinic coming to Campbell River

A new primary-care access clinic is coming to Campbell River.

The province says the clinic will be for people who need non-emergency medical care for minor injuries, high fevers, coughs, colds, cuts, wounds, chest, ear or bladder infections, back pain, strains, sprains, and headaches.

A dedicated health team will be available at the clinic, including a physician/nurse practitioner, nurses, and a medical office assistant.

North Island MLA Michele Babchuk says the clinic is a step forward in meeting healthcare needs.

“This new clinic will provide residents access to primary care, which is a crucial link in maintaining wellness,” said Babchuk.

They say this clinic is part of an ongoing initative to improve access to healthcare in local communities.

It will be located in the administration building on the North Island Hospital grounds on 381 2nd avenue.
