Construction is getting underway for a new multi-family apartment building on Ironwood Street.
Workers cleared the site this week at the corner of Ironwood and 13th Avenue, and are preparing the space for construction.
The four-storey apartment will be across from the main entrance to the Campbell River Common mall. It will include 35 units, including 12 studio apartments, nine one-bedroom units, and 14 two-bedroom units on three floors. Parking will be under the building on the main floor with some surface parking in the back.
Council unanimously approved the apartment almost exactly one year ago. At the time Councillor Ron Kerr said the new development shows confidence in the city and will be a positive addition to the area.
