A local storefront is being assessed following a vehicle crash in Campbell River.
According to Campbell River Fire Rescue fire chief Dan Verdun, they received a report of the incident at 12:00 p.m., where a driver of a small van lost control of his vehicle, leading to him crashing into a storefront on 11th Avenue.
Verdun says despite the crash, both the driver and a person who stood inside the storefront before the crash only suffered minor injuries.
“Both of them were treated by ambulance on-scene and released on-scene, so nobody had to take a trip to the hospital,” said Verdun.
He says the firefighters worked with the property owner, and arranged for a structural engineer to come and determine if the building is safe to occupy.
More updates will come as soon as they are available.
