More water restrictions could be put in

The predominantly hot dry weather we’ve been seeing here in Campbell River since June has put a big strain on water supply. A report to City Council states that at times the water demand is already over 800 liters per second and that exceeds the allotment reserved for domestic use.

Now city council has authorized the city manager to implement stage three water restrictions if needed so there is enough water in the system to fight fires.

A stage three water ban would mean people are not allowed to water lawns, fill or add water to a swimming pool or hot tub, and wash a vehicle or boat with water.
