Upgrades on Cheviot Road are underway, to make it safer for kids heading to Ripple Rock Elementary School.

The city is upgrading the walkway along the south side of Cheviot, from Petersen Road to Westmore Road. An old ditch will be filled in, and new drainage and manholes will be installed along with low-profile concrete separators to divide the walkway and the road.

The work is expected to continue until the end of August, and road closures and detours may be required during construction. The city will notify the neighbourhood and school of any traffic detours. Notifications will also be posted on the city’s website and social media channels.
