The Village of Zeballos is under a boil water advisory.
According to the Strathcona Regional District, the advisory is in effect because of an unexpected interruption to the water service for both the Village and Ehatis.
With the water potentially unsafe and may cause illness, the advisory will be up until they confirm the water is safe to drink. The Village will flush the system, while district staff takes some samples to make sure if it’s safe or not to drink.
In the meantime, they encourage you to stay safe by boiling tap water for at least a minute before drinking.
The district says staff are working on lifting the advisory, with another update to be made when new information pops up.
