School District 72 recently underwent a facility evaluation of their schools.
The review highlighted there is a significant amount of empty classrooms and renovations needed to the buildings.
Out of 175 available elementary classrooms, 69 were not currently in use from the declining enrolment.
Superintendent Tom Longridge says they are perhaps looking at reducing capacity in a number of different ways.
Longridge says no final decisions have been made, but the board will take the recommendations and move forward.
