SRD to develop transportation network plan for Electoral Area C

The Strathcona Regional District looks to improve transportation by making a new plan.

Called the Active Transportation Network Plan, it looks to improve transportation options for those living in Electoral Area C through walking, cycling, and wheeling.

The district says the plan’s goal is to give them a roadmap of goals and objectives for the community, including a long-term transportation network in that area.

Senior manager of community services Aniko Nelson says developing this plan is an important step to making a safe and accessible transportation network.

“Residents are encouraged to participate in future engagement opportunities and share their views on active transportation priorities for the area,” said Nelson.

They say this plan is the first active transportation plan for Area C, with hopes it can guide public investment in transportation infrastructure, and support destinations such as parks, schools, services, and amenities.

They add you can get involved in the project by either going to an in-person or virtual session on October 29 or finish a survey that will be open from October 15 to November 15.
