After cutting and postponing more than $1.2 million worth of spending from the draft budget, the city is proposing a tax increase of 3.39 percent for next year.
That would work out to an annual increase of $81 for the average homeowner.
One of the priciest projects put on hold was more than a half million dollars of improvements for the city’s sidewalk network.
Final budget deliberations begin next week, and the public has an opportunity to provide feedback before it’s finalized. Written comments can be emailed to the city or dropped off at city hall by noon on Monday. There will also be a chance for people to present in person at the meeting on Tuesday morning.
Visit the city’s website for more details about how to get involved.Â
