The Islands Trust says it wants the Prime Minister to take a constructive role at the upcoming UN Climate conference in Paris, and come back with a binding agreement to reduce Canada’s emissions.
And, the Trust put it in writing, in a letter to Justin Trudeau.
Chair Peter Luckham says trustrees are seeing climate change up close – through things like extreme weather and rising sea levels.
The Islands Trust is also inviting Trudeau to visit the area, to see first-hand the
work it’s doing at the local level, and the impact climate change is already having on the Islands.
