A couple in Black Creek that runs a food bank is homeless for the holidays, after an early-morning house fire.
However, they are keeping their spirits up, and hope well-wishers will channel their generousity towards the Bread of Life Food Share Program. The program is aiming to distribute more than 300 hampers next week to homes from Fanny Bay to north of Campbell River.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help Chad and Tanya Hooker, who have been displaced along with their two adult children, one grandchild, and their pets. They have temporary places to stay for the next several weeks, but the Monday morning fire destroyed many of their belongings.
