Downtown drug bust shuts down crack cocaine operation

Police have released information about a drug bust last month downtown along Shoppers Row.

The bust happened on November 20, when police executed a search warrant on a room in the 1300 block of Shoppers Row. In total, they seized nearly a kilogram of cocaine, more than 200 grams of fentanyl, and more than $26,000 in cash. They also seized 200 hydromorphone pills along with evidence they were diverted safe supply drugs.

Officers from the Street Crime Unit also found evidence that crack cocaine was being manufactured in the room, and fentanyl was being dyed and diluted.

A 34 year old man was arrested and released, his first court appearance is in February. Police are recommending drug trafficking charges for both the male and a 32-year-old woman.
