Upgrades at Strathcona Gardens rec centre continue on time and on budget, according to a recent progress report.
The Strathcona Gardens Commission last week reviewed a report about how the work is going so far. This fall a new water main hookup was installed and foundations were completed, along with other preparatory work.
The next major step will be to build the footings, walls and columns of the basement area, which will be reinforced with steel. They are expected to be completed by April next year.
The regional district continually inspects invoices and progress claims from the builders and consultants to make sure the project stays on track. By the end of this year $2.5 million will have been spent on the upgrades.
