Work starts today in the Beaver Lodge Lands to remove several dangerous trees as part of annual maintenance work.
Falling crews with the Ministry of Forests will be working until Friday, and some trails may be closed while they are on site to protect public safety. Trail users should respect all signs and instructions posted and stay out of any areas that are marked as closed.
Each year trails, bridges, and parking lots in the Beaver Lodge Lands are assessed by a certified assessor. Any trees identified as a potential hazard are marked and then removed or modified by a certified tree service company.
Work is expected to wrap up by the end of the day on Friday.
The Beaver Lodge Forest Lands are composed of several parcels of Crown Forest totaling 521 hectares. Users should be aware and cautious that unidentified hazards may exist. Any potential hazards noted by the public should be reported to the Campbell River Natural Resource District office by phone 250-286-9300, or email to [email protected]
