Expect to see more bylaw officers downtown, as the enforcement team has a new expanded schedule.
Officers will be patrolling the streets from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm every day, including weekends and holidays. Hours at the downtown safety office at Shoppers Row and 13th Avenue will remain the same, weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:20 pm, except holidays.
The city says the expanded schedule supports council’s priorities for a healthy and safe community, and revitalizing the downtown. Morning patrols are now daily, focused on the downtown core.
Along with handling community safety issues, officers will also carry out proactive work and respond to complaints throughout the day, and into the early evening.
