Investigation continues into Bella Bella float plane crash where two were seriously injured

Two people are still recovering from serious burns after a float plane crash near Bella Bella Friday.

Bill Yearwood from the Transportation Safety Board says they have an investigation going on and it is in the assessment phase.

Yearwood says witnesses were able to help the three passengers and pilot out of the float plane. An RCMP boat was in the area and able to respond.

Sgt. Rob Pikola, says Do to the quick response of our members involved, everyone on the downed Beaver float plane received medical treatment within thirty minutes of the crash. Not only was it fortunate that we were close by, but there was a fishing charter boat in the area that had 6 medical doctors on board who were from the Williams Lake and Vanderhoof area.

TSB investigators are now speaking with those witnesses and gathering information.
