The road over Strathcona Dam will be closed during the day for the next month, so BC Hydro can continue with ongoing seismic upgrades.
The road will be closed until March 7 on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm. It will also be closed on Saturday, February 15.
BC Hydro has been upgrading the dam to withstand earthquakes. Upgrades will allow the dam to use more of the reservoir and will add gates, allowing for more control of water flows.
Drivers are asked to follow all traffic signs in place and watch for workers. Visit BC Hydro’s major projects website for more information about the upgrades.
