Surrey man convicted for trafficking fentanyl in Campbell River

A drug trafficker from Surrey has been convicted in Campbell River, after an incident from 2022.

Parmvir Dhaliwal, age 24, was found guilty of possession of fentanyl and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, along with one count of obstructing a police officer.

Dhaliwal and an accomplice were arrested outside the Duncan Bay Store at the north end of town on November 16, 2022, after a brief police investigation. Police found he had 46 individual packages of fentanyl and cocaine, along with $305 in cash. He refused at first to provide his identity, but further investigation showed he had outstanding warrants for another criminal matter.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
