No one was on board and no one was injured when a mid-sized boat was mostly destroyed by fire Friday morning in the Discovery Marina in Campbell River.
However, despite high winds driving the flames, firefighters were able to contain the fire to one vessel, and it does not appear to have done damage to other boats moored nearby.
The boat was tied up at the end of F Dock, at the east end. It remains partially submerged, and crews have spread booms around it to contain any fuel and debris. However the upper deck appears to have been completely destroyed by the fire.
Four fire trucks, two command vehicles, and an ambulance were on scene for the response.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
