SAR crews recover more personal belongings of missing Comox Valley hiker

Campbell River search and rescue members are part of the team still search for a missing hiker in Strathcona Park. Crews have discovered more personal belongings of missing Comox Valley hiker Sylvia Apps, but still no sign of the 69 year old herself.

Comox Valley G-SAR President Paul Berry says, they found the latest items on the north face of Castlecrag Mountain and are focusing search efforts there today.

Berry says recovering more items belonging to Apps is both good and bad news.

Earlier this week, crews recovered the missing backpack of Apps, who’s been missing since July 8th.

Berry says crews have been out since early this morning, and were out searching until last light.
