Though there is a campfire ban from the ProvinceĀ in place in this region, campfires within City limits are still allowed.
Campbell River Fire Chief Ian Baikie says the fire ban covers all BC Parks, crown and private lands outside of municipal areas.
So, bottom line campfires within a burning ring or on the beach away from dry drift wood are still allowed within Campbell River cityĀ limits.
Baikie reminds people to never leave a fire unattended and when putting it out make sure it is cold to the touch.
