SRD reports progress on Campbell River patient lodge

Construction is moving ahead on the Just Like Home Lodge next to Campbell River Hospital.

The Strathcona Regional District said a major milestone was reached with the suspended slab now fully poured by contractor Seymour Pacific Homes.

A recent social media post from the regional district said construction on the hospital side of the project is progressing quickly, with completion anticipated later this summer.

The lodge will provide short-term accommodation for patients and family members travelling to Campbell River for specialized medical care not available in their home communities.

The project is being developed with support from the Campbell River Hospital Foundation and other community partners.

When finished, the lodge will include 10 private sleeping rooms with washrooms, a communal living space, shared kitchen, day-use common and shower facilities, guest laundry facilities and RV parking.
