Rotary Club backs Timberline students ahead of Toronto competition

The Rotary Club of Campbell River is supporting two local students as they head to Toronto for the Skills Canada National Competition.

Earlier this month, the local Rotary club presented a cheque for $2,780 to the two students from Timberline Secondary School to help with expenses.

This comes after the students won gold at the Vancouver Island regional competition and the provincial championships in film production.

“Rotary was honoured to help top off the remaining amount needed to complete their fundraising goal and help send these talented young filmmakers to represent Campbell River and all of British Columbia on the national stage,” read a statement from the Rotary Club of Campbell River.

The national competition is set for May 28 and 29 at Exhibition Place in Toronto.
