Campbell River council has approved $96,000 in renovations to the Fire Dispatch Centre.
The decision was made at the June 11 council meeting. Council also approved amendments to the 2026-35 financial plan to accommodate the work.
The city said the renovations will ensure the dispatch space meets current and future operational and ergonomic needs.
“Staff at the Fire Dispatch Centre provide services to 81 fire departments,” said a city release. “The city has been providing services on behalf of the North Island 9-1-1 Corporation since 1995.”
According to the release, the city and the North Island 9-1-1 Corporation are taking a shared approach to funding the renovations.
The centre is located at Fire Hall No. 1 in Campbell River.
