Campbell River man charged after Centennial Pool break-in

Campbell River RCMP say a local man is facing a break-and-enter charge following an investigation into a July 24 incident at Centennial Pool.

RCMP say the man was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 25, and has been detained by the court.

He is charged with one count of break and enter and is due back in court Sept. 14.

RCMP say their forensic identification section helped identify a suspect.

“While we are pleased to have advanced this investigation, our work is far from over,” said Inspector Jeff Preston, officer in charge of the Campbell River RCMP. “Property crime, including break and enters, continues to be a concern in our community. Our officers remain focused on investigating these offences and identifying those responsible. We are committed to working diligently to bring offenders before the courts and help improve public safety.”

Police say several other break-and-enter incidents remain under investigation in Campbell River. They are reminding residents and business owners to secure their properties and report suspicious activity.
