Wood Stove Exchange Rebates will be available for Campbell River residents in the new year.
City spokesperson Terri Martin says there have been big advances in wood stove technology in the last decades.
Martin says while the air quality is considered good in Campbell River, there are hot spots around the city where smoke can linger.
The rebate program will begin in the spring.
