Storm start 2016 off well

It was another big Sunday afternoon crowd at the Brindy as the Campbell River Storm came out on top of a close one with the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. Braeden Cyra’s power play goal early in the third period proved to be the difference in the 4-3 victory.

It was the Storm’s second game in two days. In Parksville on Saturday, they doubled the Generals 6-3.

It was a great weekend for the power play, with Campbell River scoring on 4 of 6 opportunities. Head Coach Lee Stone admits that it has been progressing .

On Sunday, Cyra accounted for two goals, while Keenan Scardina and Gage Colpron picked up singles.

Scardina, in his first games back from injury, was a big factor in the two wins. He accounted for two goals and an assist and was worthy of praise from Coach Stone.

The Storm’s lead in the North Division widens to 16 points. They’re next action is Friday night against the Oceanside Generals.
