Concerns have been raised about the mailboxes, with issues like accessibility being raised – both for residents and Canada Post workers.
North Island MP Rachel Blaney says Campbell River is one of the few communities cross Canada that was in the middle of the implementation of the community mailboxes, now it’s been paused and they don’t know what’s happening next.
Blaney says the planning of space has been one of the biggest issues, saying a lot of the mailboxes are in places where there’s not enough light, and on dangerous roads.
