Port Hardy RCMP ask for the public's help locating a missing woman

Geraldine Zaplotinsky, 74 years old has been missing since August 03, 2014. She was reported missing to Port Hardy RCMP in the afternoon of August 4th, 2014 by concerned family.  Despite significant efforts by local officers, her family, and community volunteers, Geraldine’s whereabouts remains unknown.

Geraldine’s vehicle, a 2010 Grey Toyota Matrix with BC licence plate (822TAN), is also missing. She likely has her small 13 year old Shih-Tzu dog with her (black and white, fur shaved except for it’s tail and ears). The dog answers to the name ‘Bailey’.

Geraldine is describes as:

  • Caucasian female
  • 5’2″ tall
  • 250 lbs
  • Grey hair and green eyes

It is very out of character for her to leave without telling anyone. Geraldine has medical issues which require regular care and treatment, raising the concern level of her family and police.

Anyone who may have seen Geraldine over the past few days, is urged to contact the Port Hardy RCMP at 250-949-6335.
