Campbell River might be seeing an Organics Facility soon.
At Monday night’s council meeting, city council agreed to write up a formal recommendation to the Comox Strathcona Waste Management Service that they apply for funding from Build Canada for a regional organics facility.
Community Planning & Development Services Manager Amber Zirnhelt says an organics facility in Campbell River is a great opportunity for the city to increase the waste diversion, which will help the city’s waste reduction plans.
Zirnhelt says the facility would be a regional facility if the regional board chooses to go ahead and apply for funding.
